Reverend Zen Named Artist of the Year at 17th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards

Reverend Zen moves into 2008 with Artist of the Year honors from the Los Angeles Music Awards.

Katonah, NY (Billboard Publicity Wire) January 25, 2008 -- The New York based rock/R&B/jazz band Reverend Zen is moving into 2008 with Artist of the Year honors from the 17th annual Los Angeles Music Awards. Recipients of four Best Song Nominations in the Adult Contemporary Artist and Blues Categories of the awards, genre stretching Reverend Zen was named 2007 Blues Artist of the Year at the LAMA ceremony held November 29, 2007 at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Music Award's Artist of the Year honors highlights an award winning eighteen months for Reverend Zen. With the release of their debut album, Angels, Blues & the Crying Moon, the group has received a prestigious 2007 ASCAP Plus Award for composer/bandleader Jack Evans, two Finalist Awards in the 2007 Unisong International Song Contest, a Finalist and five Runners Up Awards in the 2006 VH1 Song of the Year Contest and honors from the Mid Atlantic Song Contest, the Billboard World Song Contest and the UK's Singer-Songwriter Awards.
