PhunktHouse
PhunktHouse is a two time winner of Indie Artists Alliance compilation CDs with their entry What's That Song and Revolution.
The entire group of folks at PH are eloquent, talented and passionate. They prove that Rap and Hip Hop can have a social consciousness and passion. These gentlemen maintain a varied sound from song to song ranging from Freestyle Rap to full instrumentation. All of their songs have solid beats and a ton of creativity.
Who would have ever thought that one person's idea of a demo studio would turn into a 13-member hip-hop band? Certainly not RV, founder of Phunkthouse. Oh yes, I said 13 members! All of which are equally important to the unique sound that is Phunkthouse! In the beginning, RV created Phunkthouse as a way to help artists who wanted to make a demo cd, without the high cost of a professional studio and sound engineer. Unbeknownst to RV at the time, this would soon create the perfect circumstances to form what is now Phunkthouse! As time passed the group steadily grew bigger, louder and stronger.
Everyone wanted to be a part of PH! Eventually, Phunkthouse reached a point where the band finally had to say, "No more new members". I'd hardly say Phunkthouse has settled at 13 though. Each member brings in a talent and "Phunk" all their own, composing one of the most diverse and artful collaborations to scorch the hip-hop scene!
