Disc Duplication vs Replication - What's the Difference
Article by CDDVD Now! http://www.cddvdnow.com
CD and DVD Replication (also known as Optical DIsc Manufacturing) is a process of manufacturing your discs.
Disc Duplication is copying data onto recordable media, either CD-R or DVD-R.
Replication is a process of creating a glass master and a stamper and injection molding your discs. The data is pressed into the polycarbonate material, then a layer of foil is applied, a protective layer and then the discs are printed using either a silkscreen or offset printing method.
Duplication uses discs that have a layer of optical dye and the data is burned into the dye using a laser. This is where the expression, "to burn a disc" comes from.
Duplicating CDs and DVDs is a relatively quick and inexpensive process making it the choice for short-run needs. The discs are burned and then the artwork is printed directly on the face of the disc.

There are however instances where CD replication is a better choice.
If you want to make 1000 discs or more, CD or DVD replication will be the least expensive way to go. There are virtually no compatibility issues with CD-R but, in the case of DVD-R duplication, there are still some compatibility issues between some set-top players and DVD-R.
Replicating your DVD (stamping) virtually eliminates all compatibility issues. With stamped discs, you have a much more professional look, too. There are many benefits to replication including 100% accuracy and tremendous price breaks in larger quantities. Many times it comes down to a couple of issues, how many you need and how fast you need them.

The Boxing Lesson "Dance With Meow" video premiere!!!!!!
Press Release
February 5th, 2008
Austin, TX
The Boxing Lesson are proud to announce the debut of their new music video "Dance with Meow", the lead track from the upcoming Wild Streaks & Windy Days (out Feb 26, 2008). The video was shot around Austin at some very well known places (Trophys, Beauty Bar, Mohawk, Club DeVille, Home Slice, etc) and was directed by Matt Robertson (directed videos for Aster, The Murdocks).
Check out the video at this link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luJ_DgfVq9s

Wild Streaks & Windy Days will be mailed out to all press and media outlets in the next two weeks. Be on the lookout for one great record. Here's a look at what people are already saying about the record:
By stripping down the players and expanding the sounds they were creating, the Boxing Lesson moved on to a new plane of existence. The addition of Jaylinn Davidson on synths and vocals and Jake Mitchell on drums and samples, blew up Paul's songs in ways I couldn't have imagined. Texas has never been so lucky as to receive a band with this much potential. - The Last Pub & Monkey
Cage
"The Boxing Lesson, a hard-charging trio that declared "Indie Rock is Dead" on 2006's Songs in the Key of C, then buried the beast with chunky 70's power chords and sinister Moog warbles on the new Wild Streaks & Windy Days." - The Onion (Austin)
"The Boxing Lesson played to a packed Emo's Lounge....There's just something about three piece bands that I can't get enough of. I really like that three musicians can do what takes some bands 5 or more to do. And Austin's The Boxing Lesson is no exception. With Paul Waclawsky on guitar and vox, Jaylinn Davidson on synthesizers, and Jake Mitchell on drums and rocking out samples (Wu-tang?),
you get a blend of three distinct sounds that sound like the bastard child of David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Broken Social Scene and Ween…. if thats even freaking possible. The Boxing Lesson closed their set with a song called "Muerta," which they will release a new music video for in about a month. Paul Waclawsky uses slide guitar to make this song really dark and gloomy. If you didn't know any
better you could find it on a Pink Floyd album. Not Syd Barett Floyd, more David Gilmour Floyd-esque if you will.... I'm looking forward to see what direction they go in the future." Burn.TV Blog

Jacob Blue " Consists of Four Men dedicated to spreading God's message of hope and salvation
through their own unique sound.
Jacob Blue has a knack for creating never before heard melodies. It has always been vital to them not to absorb themselves into other's music, therefore producing a copycat sound. They like being fresh, new, and original. Their style has been influenced by 60's style artists such as Bob Dylan, southern gospel style music, 70s and 80s style rock, and country music.

One Soul Sounding is back again this year for another transformative night of singing, story-telling, dance and audience participation in celebration of the Spring Equinox. Last year, the sold out audience departed the concert so happy, openhearted and feeling interconnected, it inspired all of the performers to return again this
year.
One Soul Sounding was created out of a desire to encourage a shared experience of cross-cultural community. Because of its success, Lisa Rafel has committed to producing the concert as an annual event. Even in an urban environment, when we participate in the seasonal changes of the earth, and reconnect with our own natural
rhythms through song and ritual, we can experience a sense of meaningful renewal and joy. For this one night, ten world-class musicians form an ensemble.
Through music, story telling, and ritual, the performers play with and for each other, becoming a community onstage and supporting each other seamlessly throughout the evening. The audience becomes an integral part of the evening as they join in to sing-a–long and become a part of the non-denominational ritual that celebrates the Spring Equinox, new beginnings,
and re-birth. The Equinox is the only time when the whole world is in balance, which makes it a perfect setting for a cross-cultural community celebration.
One Soul Sounding is a rare opportunity to enjoy the talents of these extraordinary musicians and performers in one place. Vocalists Linda Tillery, Evelie Delfino Såles Posch, Eda Maxym and overtone chantress Lisa Rafel join didgeridoo wizard Stephen Kent, pianist and award winning composer and performer Gary Malkin, world-music virtuoso Tim Rayborn, cellist
Kris Yenney, dancer Arisika Razak, and master story-teller Luisah Teish to create one power-packed, lively event. Collectively, they blend the diverse cultures of Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Australia, Mongolia, the Philippines, England, and America.
This concert is co-sponsored by the Holistic Health Departments of San Francisco State University and JFK University, and the Women’s Spirituality Dept and Holistic Studies Program of the California Institute of Integral Studies.
