2nd Bi-Annual OVCMA Spring PraiseFest on Sunday May 25.

The Ohio Valley Christian Music Association is hosting the 2nd Bi-Annual OVCMA Spring PraiseFest on Sunday May 25. The event is free to the general public and will go from 4-8 pm. It will be held under the gazebo in East Muskingum Park at the corners of Front and Scammel Streets in Marietta. Bring lawn chairs and be prepared for inclement weather.

Scheduled performers include the Southern Gospel quartet "Dayspring"; the bluegrass band "The Peacemakers" (winner, 2007 OVCMA Bluegrass Gospel Artist of the Year and 2007 Angel Award); guitarist Harold Moore; urban praise & worship band "Essence"; country gospel vocalists Danny LeMasters (winner, 2006 Golden Voice Award) and Ruthie C. Dunn (winner, 2007 Golden Voice Award); and Travis Wells, winner of the 2007 CCM Song of the Year Award and the lead singer of the Christian rock band "Krusade" (two-time Golden Voice Award winners).

The Spring PraiseFest, as well as the Summer PraiseFest to be held in Barnesville, are "prequels" to the all-day Annual Fall PraiseFest held at the Noble County Fairgrounds in Caldwell in October. The fall festival is in its 28th year and is the third year hosted by the OVCMA.

Already scheduled for the Fall PraiseFest are, among others, One Accord (winner, 2007 OVCMA Southern Gospel Artist of the Year and Southern Gospel Album of the Year), The Welch Family (bluegrass), "Buckeye" Bill Brooks (Country Gospel), Linda Weber (Country Gospel), Crying Out Loud (Christian Rock), and the Inspiration Network’s 2008 Christian Artist Talent Search winner Lauren Mascitti (Country Gospel).

The Ohio Valley Christian Music Association is a network of independent, local Christian singers, songwriters, bands, groups, and musicians ministering to the Ohio Valley region. Membership in the OVCMA is free and all of its ministry events are free to the general public. Donations are accepted to help cover expenses.
